Pakistan Flood Victims Grateful for Your Support
Families in Lahore, Pakistan continue to recover from the devastating 2025 floods. While the waters have receded, the challenges remain: homes damaged, schools closed, and countless families still struggling with food insecurity and displacement. Ongoing relief efforts are helping to rebuild lives and restore hope in the community.
In the wake of this disaster, our missionaries stepped in to help those most in need. With your support, emergency assistance reached 800 people, prioritizing large families and pregnant women. Nearly 40% of those who received aid were children under the age of 16 — young lives disrupted by circumstances far beyond their control.
For 13-year-old Danish, the floods changed everything. When the waters rushed through his neighborhood, his family’s home was nearly destroyed, forcing them to leave. Although they were grateful that no one was injured, the uncertainty that followed weighed heavily on the family. For months, they had no safe place to live.
When repairs were finally completed, Danish and his family were able to return home. But another challenge remained: his school was still closed due to flood damage. Without access to education, Danish’s future was at risk of being derailed.
Fortunately, Danish will now attend the Don Bosco Youth Center and live in the Salesian boarding house in Lahore. Several of his cousins, who were also affected by school closures, will join him, giving them stability, structure and the opportunity to continue learning during this difficult time.
“Consistency in education is very important for these young people,” explains Father Michael Conway, Director of Salesian Missions. “It is through education that they will find their way out of desperate situations. While we cannot prevent natural disasters, we can ensure that children have the tools they need to build better futures.”
Because of your support, children like Danish can move beyond crisis and toward hope. Even in the aftermath of disaster, education, stability and compassion are lighting the way forward.
Our mission is to bring help and hope to children and families facing unimaginable challenges. What’s your mission?
