(Excerpt) In his famed poem “Auguries of Innocence,” William Blake spoke of seeing “a world in a grain of sand.” In a sense, that’s what Canadian Cardinal Michael Czerny sees in the death of a 23-year-old woman from AIDS in Sierra Leone last week – both the tragedy, but also the hope, facing modern-day victims of what Pope Francis calls a “throw-away culture.”
