In 1922, at the Vatican’s request, one Salesian bishop, four priests, and three brothers arrived in Broome, Australia — persevering through decades of challenging circumstances to establish schools, youth centers and formation houses around the country. Today, more than one hundred priests and brothers operate 60 programs — including schools, health clinics, rural development initiatives, and vocational training centers — in 15 different locations throughout Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and the Solomon Islands.
