For the 260 kids who attend the Don Bosco Muhazi Technical and Vocational School in Rwanda, devastating hunger and unstable living conditions had created overwhelming obstacles to learning. But now, thanks to caring friends like you, Salesian Missions has provided food assistance and essential supplies for the students, giving them the support they need to focus on their studies and build brighter futures.

Among those who attend the school, 50 live off campus and face incredible challenges. They come from remote areas and belong to some of the most impoverished communities in the country. These children and their families struggle with everyday needs, including food and safe housing. Your generosity to Salesian Missions has enabled the school to provide them with hygiene kits, nutritious food, and rent support. The gift of these provisions has been enough to alleviate the day-to-day suffering and help keep youngsters in school.

Prior to receiving aid, the school was running low on food and staff grew increasingly worried about the well-being of their students and the uncertainty of what might come next. When the donations of food and other necessities came through for all the students, it truly felt like a miracle! Since then, there has been a significant increase in morale, hope and student stabilization.

“Education is the most effective way to change a young person’s life,” says Father Michael Conway, director of Salesian Missions. “Your generosity has made it possible for us to create a positive impact for some of the most poverty-stricken students attending the Don Bosco Muhazi Technical and Vocational School. When these youth graduate, they will have the skills needed to help them earn a livable income — and that is priceless.”
