In 2025, the Salesians acquired Nasara Academy in Koko, Nigeria – a school in urgent need of major renovations. Among the most critical needs is sanitation, as students currently rely on overcrowded pit toilets, and limited access to clean water and handwashing facilities – conditions which pose serious hygiene and health risks.
This project would install a borehole to provide fresh, clean water throughout the school. It will also fund the construction of 16 sanitary, gender-sensitive and disability-accessible bathroom stalls, install handwashing stations at strategic locations on the premises, and create a rainwater collection and storage system.
These improvements will have a huge impact and create a safer, healthier environment for more than 1,000 students, staff and youth each day.
This project is located at the Salesian Nasara Academy in Koko, Nigeria.
The total cost to install a borehole, hygienic faciliies, and a rainwater collection and storage system = $50,000.00
