The Salesians in Kafroun, Syria are looking to renovate the dilapidated bathroom facilities at the Don Bosco Monastery and Center – a vital gathering place that serves the educational and spiritual needs of more than 2,000 children and young people each year. In the 30 years since the Center was built, the bathroom facilities have deteriorated significantly, creating serious concerns related to hygiene, safety and dignity. Funding is requested to overhaul and reconstruct the restroom facilities in the dormitories, halls and outdoor spaces so the youth can participate in a clean and healthy environment. This project is especially important due to Syria’s ongoing humanitarian crisis, where safe spaces are essential for young people facing displacement, poverty and instability. The renovations will directly benefit youth from Kafroun, as well as other Salesian sites, and volunteers and staff, while supporting the wider community of families who rely on the Center. The total amount being requested for this project is $50,000.00; however, they are seeking additional funding from local supporters.
This project is located at the Don Bosco Monastery and Center in Kafroun, Syria.
The total cost to purchase materials and renovate bathrooms = $50,000.00
