You can perform a modern-day miracle. Just as Jesus transformed two loaves of bread and five fish into enough food to feed thousands of people, our annual Loaves and Fishes appeal multiplies every $1 you give into $14 worth of life-saving supplies.

“We’re fortunate to have strong, long-standing partnerships with other humanitarian organizations that donate tons of essential items,” explains Father Michael Conway, Director of Salesian Missions. “We just need your help to cover the cost of shipping so we can get these goods to our mission locations where they will be distributed to struggling families.”

One such place is Timor-Leste. Thanks to the overwhelming support of last year’s Loaves and Fishes appeal, nearly 2,000 hungry children in 28 centers across the country received the gift of healthy meals on a daily basis. In addition, our missionaries have established special courses at six locations near the capital city of Dili to help impoverished residents develop sustainable food programs. These initiatives include cooking classes, agricultural training, hygiene initiatives, and malnutrition management.

Through our alliance with World Vision, we were able to secure a generous donation of bicycles that were distributed to 120 boys and girls from Tonacatepeque, El Salvador. For these impoverished children, the donated bicycles are much more than a form of recreation; they are an essential mode of transportation. The bikes provide a safe and reliable way for them to travel long distances to school, giving them access to valuable educational opportunities.

Our partnerships also provide life-saving medicine for the sick, school supplies for disadvantaged youth, and temporary shelter for displaced families. “These shipments make a world of difference in the lives of the children and families we serve,” added Fr. Mike. “Our donors can be assured that the impact of their gifts will be multiplied 14 times over!”
