Fund a New Project

The Salesians in Bangalore intend to refurbish an old, rundown building, making it a full-fledged Youth Empowerment Center to help rehabilitate street children. This requires major rebuilding and renovation of the electric system, bathroom facilities and offices. Funding is requested to help build new, basic hygenic bathroom facilities first. This initial step is critical  in ensuring the poor children will have dignified, clean and healthy bathrooms.

The grand total cost of the renovations is $90,000.00; however, they have already received $50,000.00 from another source to start the project.

This project is located at the Don Bosco Ajjanahalli Youth Center, Ramnagar in Bangalore, India.

Don Bosco College at Chapaguri is challenged with interrupted power and an insufficient voltage supply. Installing a solar energy system will provide reliable electricity so students can study and staff can teach without interruption and loss of power. It will also protect electronic equipment from fluctuations and enable the facility to be lit at night for evening classes and better security. The Salesians hope to raise some funds from local sources.

Entire villages were destroyed by tropical storms during the 2020 hurricane season. Our Salesian missionaries are working with a local foundation to help rural communities facing devastating loss on top of the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding is needed to relocate families to safer locations; build them new, modest houses to replace those that were damaged or destroyed; and develop agricultural training programs so they can grow food to feed themselves and become self-sustainable.

This funding is mainly for the construction of over 100 houses. If only 65 generous friends are able to send $5,000.00 each, dozens of families and children can have decent housing once again. (The cost to build 1 house = $3,223.00)

The Foundation for the Development & Education of Indigenous Women – San Pedro Carchà, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala

The total cost of this project is $328,746.00 but each house costs just $3,223.00

The Salesian Sisters are attempting to fund scholarships to benefit 90 poor, vulnerable children and adolescents at two Salesian schools. By keeping the students in these educational units, the Sisters hope to ensure youth continue to receive a quality education, which will provide hope for brighter futures and opportunities for a better life.

The Sisters expect to raise funds from several other sources and need this amount from our generous donors to complete the total funding for this project.

This project is located at the Maria Auxiliadora Educational Unit (EU) in Quito, and the Sor Teresa Valesé EU in Cuena, both in Ecuador.

This mission provides shelter, education and vocational training to hundreds of impoverished youth. The mission site also operates a youth center and a chapel that are utilized by the entire community.

They maintain a 64-acre farm which serves as a sustainable food source for the children they help. But with the increased number of youth in the community, they are unable to grow enough crops to feed all of them adequately. As a result, many of theem are under-nourished. Funding is needed to buy additional food supplies to supplement and provide daily nutritional meals to everyone in need.

This is an amazing opportunity to help feed poor children! If 100 generous people each donate just $970.00, then 500 children will be fed for a whole year!

Don Bosco Gatenga – Rwanda

To provide nutritious meals each day for an entire year to over 5oo children = $97,000.00

Kilimanjaro International Institute of Telecommunications, Electronics and Computers (KIITEC) is the leading educational center of its kind serving poor youth in the East-African region. KIITEC provides training to produce a skilled and entrepreneurial workforce. The Salesians who manage the center live many miles away from campus. Constructing a residence onsite will provide a more consistent Salesian presence, more effective youth ministry, and administrative supervision of the center.

Please note – even partial funding would be a Godsend for these Salesian missionaries

As the size of the community has increased and the number of parishioners grown, the Salesians have had to embark on a multi-phase project to expand their church. Phase 1 has been completed. Now they are in URGENT need of funds to complete Phase 2 – the concrete structural work to protect against torrential rains and destructive mudslides, of which the sub-structure is at risk.

If their prayers to complete Phase 2 are answered, they can move on to Phase 3 – the construction to complete the church, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting.

This project is located at St. Augustine’s Parish in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

St. Augustine's Parish – Freetown, Sierra Leone

This old church serves a large, poor community. It is more than 50 years old and has a great deal of age-related damage. The church is in need of repairs and renovations to keep it functioning, prevent further deterioration, and ensure the safety of the parishioners.

This project is located at the Mela Eral Church, which is part of the Keela Eral Parish, in Tamil Nadu, India.

Hunger has been declared a national disaster in this drought-ridden country. Our Salesian missionaries at the Don Bosco Youth Center want to provide 200 impoverished children with two meals a day to keep them in school and away from the dangerous streets. Additionally, we want to train adults in food security so they can store food for the future.

This on-going program can be funded for one month or multiple months.

To purchase food and supplies (rice, beans, pasta, dry fish, cooking oil, etc.):
