In this remote, impoverished diocese of Equatorial Guinea, there are several parishes where the population lives without safe drinking water. The Salesians hope to alleviate this crisis, increase sanitation, improve the health of children, and supply clean drinking water by constructing wells and cisterns in 18 rural sites.

Please note – even partial funding for this project would be welcome. There are opportunities to fund individual wells at each of the 18 locations. Each well = $18,000.00

This Salesian-run home is for street children and has recently been ear-marked to be a shelter for children who have been orphaned or homeless due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. The Salesians seek funding to maintain the home so they can continue to provide safe shelter, daily meals, medical aid, and counseling. Funds are also needed to repair the plumbing and update the electrical system in the facility, as well as compensate staff who cook, clean and drive two vehicles to transport the children.

This project is located at the Ekalavya Children’s Home in Ravulapalem, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The Salesians established Snehalaya Children’s Home which rescues poor and abandoned boys, and provides them with a safe, loving home. In addition they provide medical attention, nutrition, education and counseling to help them grow into responsible, independent citizens. This project seeks funds to maintain the home and continue its programs.

Salesian missionaries in this remote region of India have a difficult time reaching far-away rural villages. A reliable 4-wheel drive vehicle would help missionaries travel the challenging roads and terrain to bring their ministry to people in these distant locales.

A security fence surrounding the Salesian parish of St. Joseph the Worker will provide a physical border to help keep the children and families who attend church and other community events safe. It will also allow for additional developmental projects, including a vegetable garden, meeting center and kindergarten.

The Don Bosco Youth Center is a safe, loving home which provides vocational training for vulnerable youth. The sports field was dangerous and unsuitable for athletic activities. The Salesians have raised most of the funds needed to replace the field through local efforts and are seeking help to complete the project. The new field will benefit students and the community.

The members of this parish have worked tirelessly to contribute the time, energy and funds needed to build a church for their community. They are dedicated to the completion of this project and continue to make progress; however, they are desperately in need of immediate funding to build the roof and inside ceiling of the structure.

Changes in the mining industry in this area have led to unemployment and the deterioration of educational and recreational facilities and a large number of drop outs. Expansion of the local Salesian technical school to add science classrooms, labs and restrooms will enable the Salesians to offer quality technical secondary vocational education. This will increase the number of skilled young people, especially women, entering the workforce.

Young people in the Salesian Province of Central Africa suffer many economic and social hardships. This project seeks to offer positive and upbeat Christian messages through song and music. Young people will sing and create musical compositions for worship in their native languages, and then raise needed funds through distribution of recorded CDs.

This project is located in the Salesian Province (ATE) in Central African Republic*.
